We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Tampa. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from amateurs to professionals. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

Complete beginner? Please complete a Beginners Photography Class before attending a regular group session. This is a 3 hour structured workshop where you’ll learn the basics of using your camera with more 1-on-1 time with the instructor. Scroll down for dates.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Panoramic Landscape Photography - Picnic Island - 9am - 2 hours
Panoramas visually enhance many types of photography, such as travel and architecture images. The way they allow the viewer's eye to sweep across the landscape, gives them a more inclusive view than people normally see in the average rectangular photograph. It's important to plan out your picture before you shoot it. Where is your panorama going to start and where is it going to end? It's important to structure your panoramas carefully, paying close attention to the composition of the elements. Book in to join the instructor after the group for a 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session where you can develop your post shoot skills. Bring your tablet or laptop. Having a professional photographer on our critique sessions will help move your photography to a higher level. Your photos will be evaluated along with a lot of encouragement. You will have a better understanding of the larger “picture” improving your skills as a photographer

A great morning. A nice balance of an organized workshop with specific skills to learn or work on. Yet time and space to freely experiment with the skill. Also a very nice outdoor park setting. Thank you!!

I enjoyed it and learned more about taking photography manually than I have all these years of taking it automatically. Sarah was very helpful with me and my camera. I still have so much more to learn, and am anxious to practice more with my camera.

I have taken several b & w photography classes but I still was not totally clear about the best way to shoot monochrome. Sarah was wonderful and I know feel much more confident.

This was my first event. Instructor was very easy to talk to. I liked the small group setting. Only 5 in the group. I liked that it was early, 8:30 in the morning so it doesn’t interfere with weekend plans.
