Leading Lines - Phillipe Park - 9am - 2 hours
Leading lines in photography world refers to a technique used that will draw the viewers attention to lines that lead to the main subject of the photo. Think of it as the drumroll leading up to the main focal point. This main subject may be a person, a building, a massive tree, or anything really that you decide to guide the viewer to.

We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Tampa. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from amateurs to professionals. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

Complete beginner? Please complete a Beginners Photography Class before attending a regular group session. This is a 3 hour structured workshop where you’ll learn the basics of using your camera with more 1-on-1 time with the instructor. Scroll down for dates.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Tampa Photography Facebook Group to share your photos after the session.
We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

Stay home if you're sick.
Keep 6 feet away from others.
Don't make unnecessary physical contact with others. Avoid physical greetings, such as handshakes, hugs and kisses.
Wash your hands regularly with alcohol-based sanitiser.
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use a flexed elbow or a tissue.

Excellent one on one learning with Jake was great. Jake is extremely patient teaching and showing different aspect of Lightroom. Will definitely keep a connection with him and his group sessions. More photographers should take advantage of his skills. Thanks Jake!

Rachelle did an excellent job explaining the different concepts of nature photography. I feel a lot more confident than before to take better photos of wildlife and plants outdoors. The location was great for the theme and we were able to get a variety of shots.

Jake is terrific. This is my 2nd class with him and I learned a lot. He makes sure you understand every concept before moving on with lots of hands on demonstrations and practices. He also sends camera specific videos which I find very helpful. Can't wait for the next class.

It was very informative. Jake did a very nice job. The beach setting might be better at sunset. It was a beautiful beach but a park might have been a better choice. Still well worth it
